Come and See
Like Abraham, who welcomed the angelic visitors and served them a meal at the table (Gen. 18), we invite you to gather around the Lord’s table with us – liturgically here on earth and eternally in heaven. Come and see for yourself, come as the door is open, come as there is a place for you at the Lord’s table, taste and see how good the Lord is (Ps. 34:8). All are invited to join and complete the circle at the table, to experience God’s hospitality, to journey with Him through life.
The center of Eastern Christian worship is the Divine Liturgy. Until we have a priest, we will offer Typika (a short service performed when a priest or bishop is not present) and Vesper services. As we are a young mission, we do not currently have a priest. It is our hope and intention to eventually have a priest ordained for our community, and to be able to offer the Divine Liturgy and sacraments. We have recently entered into an agreement with The Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Frederick to host our services in a consistent location.
While many church buildings and businesses are closed to protect the health and safety of others during the COVID-19 pandemic, we will continue to monitor the situation and offer our prayers for the healing of all up to God, joining together in spirit even as we may be often separated in body. To that end, The Mustard Seed ECC offers weekly online prayer services via Facebook Live as well as in-person socially distanced Divine Services. |
